Toy Store Cafe and Cookie Monster Lattes

Toy Store Cafe and Cookie Monster Lattes

I was always more of a book lover than a toy lover as a child, and I guess I still am that way, but my god I do love a good toy store.

On a snowy Saturday morning, I headed to Viva Salon in search of cookie monster lattes and vintage toys. I was not dissapointed.

From the neon sign and giant pooh bear alone, I knew I would love this place.  The owner had actually stepped out to grab food (leaving a post-it on the door) so I wandered the neighborhood a bit.

By the time I came back the cafe was open, crowded, and filled with an incredible amount of toys from Disney to Kumamon!

After spending way too much time rummaging through all the shelves and baskets, I finally ordered my drink.  Appropriately called the Monster Latte for more reasons than one, I signed myself up for a massive iced latte covered in a thick layer of blue whipped cream.

As if that wasn't enough, marshmallows, an oreo, and chocolate syrup gave it the exact expression of the one, the only, Cookie Monster.

Oh, and just in case you're thinking that isn't enough chocolate and sugar for you, they give you two small chocolate cookies on the side as well.

Absolutely everything in the store is for sale, and many of the toys are rare or limited edition.  I thought I was excaping the store without purchasing anything, but last-minute I discovered a tiny Studio Ghibili pile...

I left the shop on a sugar high, with two vintage Studio Ghibili toys in my pocket.  They were 4,000won each, so in total I spent about $7 on toys! Adult decisions!
