Ricotta and Apricot Toast at Cheongdam's Halfmoon
This afternoon I headed towards Cheongdam, in search of the perfect slice of toast.
A coworker of mine, who is quite the connoisseur of cafes, told me about a brand new place that opened nearby, serving up toast with all kinds of toppings that I would absolutely love. The second he mentioned 'apricot jam' I was sold.
Halfmoon opened only a few weeks ago, but the cafe is already a hit. I almost had to give up on my toast adventure, though, when I couldn't figure out how to open the door. Pro tip: there is a hidden button to the right that opens the door. Luckily, the barista ran over to let me in :)
Once I finally got inside, I was quick to order my americano and ricotta toast with apricot jam. If you know Korean cooking, you're probably aware that the ricotta cheese here is not...well...its just not ricotta. Its much closer to cream cheese than what I'm used to ricotta tasting like back in the States.
The cafe was cozy but rather busy, with every table filling up as I sat enjoying my lunch. I had major toast envy though, because I wanted to try them all! The women sitting next to me had the other two kinds I wanted to try and I was so tempted to ask them for a bite.
The nutella with sea salt or the ricotta fig looked magnificent!
